After work, I had a quick dinner and then set off. There was a short comfort break at the Watford Gap services, finally arriving at the Travelodge at Morcott late in the evening.
2022 update: Interesting to note that my route during this period was via the M1. When I eventually had an in-vehicle guidance system, the normal route became the M11.
Saturday 4th December 1999
No GPS record exists, but day 2 would have been spent at Rutland Water, an evening meal at the Little Chef and a second night at the Travelodge.

An early start, so I had breakfast on the way. The Little Chef at Swaffham is on the wrong side of a dual carriageway, so getting there was a bit of a kerfuffle.
Birding today was at the RSPB reserve at Minsmere.
